What do we mean, Blackburn, not Black Friday? 

Well. Let us explain.  

We used to have a thriving textile industry in the UK. It was our biggest employer, at its peak accounting for 1 in 5 of all UK jobs. In manufacturing towns like Blackburn and many others millions of people proudly made the best quality textiles and clothing in the world.  

But then along came fast fashion, cheap synthetic fabrics, offshore production and Black Friday. And with it the demise of the British textile industry. Millions of skilled workers, and hundreds of proud British towns, ended up on the scrapheap.  

At Community Clothing we believe in a different way of doing things. Our mission is simple: make great quality everyday clothes, in fantastic factories here in the UK, and by doing so support great jobs right across the country. No discounts, no offers, no Black Friday, just great quality at the very best price we can 365 days a year. 

So this week in particular we ask you to think about where you want your money to go and what you want it to do. The money you spend can do great things. Please, shop local, support local. Think Blackburn*, not Black Friday.
