Retribe Collaboration

We’re very happy to unveil a new collaboration that we've been working on, this time with ReTribe, a small Sheffield studio with a big mission. Founded in 2023 by outdoor clothing designer Laura Mason, it all began when she set out to salvage a single tent to turn into a jacket. Instead she found fields full of abandoned tents, all heading straight for landfill, and decided to do something about it. Since then Laura and her small team have rescued more than 550 tents, each one collected by hand, scrubbed clean in an industrial washer and cut down into neat reusable panels.

Our partnership with ReTribe comes from a shared frustration with waste and a belief that good products should do good as well. As Laura puts it:"It’s been great working with Community Clothing. They have fully jumped on board with the complexity of working with salvaged material. From the start the drive was real. Patrick wanted to use the repurposed material and was happy to accept its quirks. Not only accept them, but embrace and showcase them in such an authentic way."

Together, we 've worked to transform tent fabric destined for landfill into something practical and long lasting. After salvaging and preparing the tents in Sheffield, the material then travelled to our factory in Blackburn where it was sewn into our very own special edition Pack a Sack. No two bags are the same because, of course, no two tents are the same, and we’ve grouped them into four colours; pink, blue, green and grey.

It's all part of our growing Zero Waste Collection and a reminder that, with a bit of creativity and hard work, we can turn problems into something brilliant.

Our latest collaboration is with Sheffield based ReTribe, a brand that upcycles tents. Together we have created a limited edition Pack a Sacks made from abandoned festival tents.

Community Clothing says No! to Black Friday. Instead we say Yes! to a great deal for everyone, every single day of the year.
