Our Gift Card Shortlist + Winners

Our Gift Card Shortlist + Winners

A massive thanks to the hundreds of you who sent in designs for our first-ever CC gift card competition. We absolutely loved judging your fab illustrations, collages, prints and all the other brilliant designs you made. And thank you for the notes that accompanied many of them; the stories of your inspirations - connections to the places that are special to you and to the work that we do - were a real treat to read.
In fact, there were so many great ones that we’ve decided to award a bunch of runners-up prizes, too, with all of those designs and the winning one available through the gift card section of the website (we start at just £10). Some are very Christmassy, but lots aren’t, so if you’ve birthdays or other special occasions coming up that you need a little something for then there’s gift card with someone’s name on it.

We have two winners in our two age categories.

First, in the over 19’s we have Mark Parker, a textiles teacher and painter, whose riso print (a highly energy efficient and sustainable printing method) celebrates the smallest Christmas tree in the world (Mark lives in a small city centre flat) and also features collaged pages from a vintage ledger rescued from a skip outside a mill in the Scottish Borders.

Our winner in the 19 and under is Maria Walker, who is 10. She describes her card - pictured below - simply as ‘a cute fun design which says merry Christmas on it’. It certainly is and we love it. We love them both.

A special mention to those of you who stuck my head/face onto all sorts of things (particularly enjoyed me as 'David' in a Santa hat, above, by James Dewar). They tickled us.

Happy gifting one and all .

We try our best to let nothing go to waste by using up the end of fabric rolls and deadstock materials from our factory in Blackburn, to create high quality products that can be put to use. Here's how we are moving towards zero waste.
In collaboration with sustainable stationery brand Mark + Fold we've found an innovative way to use scraps of denim from the factory floor. Introducing our denim notebooks, made with hand made paper (also out of our denim scraps) by the Paper Foundation.
