Made for British Weather by British Millerian

To us, a great raincoat needs to keep you dry, last for years and be made in a way we feel proud of.

That’s why we make our raincoats from British Millerain fabric, the original manufacturer of waterproof cotton, based just up the road in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

They’ve been making rainwear fabrics since 1880 and were pioneers in the creation of waxed cotton and performance fabrics, making them the best in the business.

British Millerain has been perfecting waterproof cotton for well over a century. From their factory in Rochdale, they’ve supplied fabric to some of the most recognisable outerwear brands in the world.

Their team blends traditional Lancashire textile craft with modern innovation, producing tightly woven cotton that’s finished with a fluorocarbon-free waterproof coating. It’s durable, breathable, and made to handle the unpredictable British weather.

We like working with them because, like us, they care about doing things properly. No shortcuts, no gimmicks, just well-made materials that do what they’re meant to.

We love British Millerain fabric because it feels as good as it performs. It’s 100% cotton, which gives it weight and structure, but it softens beautifully with wear. The waterproof finish keeps the rain out, but it still lets the fabric breathe.

It’s also built to last. If, after years of wear, the waterproof finish starts to fade, you can easily re-proof it at home with a simple wash-in treatment. That means one raincoat can last you a lifetime, not just a season.

When you put one on, you’re wearing a bit of British history, fabric woven in Rochdale, stitched in Lancashire, designed for everyday life.

So, next time the clouds roll in, you’ll be glad you’re wearing one.

Our raincoats begin in Rochdale, at British Millerain. A sixth generation, family-run mill that’s been leading the way in waterproof cotton since 1880. Their fabric combines over a century of Lancashire craftsmanship with modern innovation, and we’re proud to make it part of our raincoats with it.
