In my wardrobe, I have a 1980s American sweatshirt bought second hand about 30 years ago that to me is almost too precious to wear. It was originally a deep cobalt blue but is now nicely faded, with fantastic full cut sleeves, a loose body, and, uniquely, no shoulder seam.
Instead, the sweatshirt body is cut in one large piece, with the neck hole cut out, allowing it to sit perfectly on the shoulders. It’s a little trickier to make than the standard sweatshirt, so a little more expensive, but for the connoisseur it’s something special.
